After a couple of nice spring-like warm days the garden is starting to get the sun again out from the shadow of the house. With just that, and the days getting longer, blossom, buds and new growth is appearing. The cherry tree, the blackcurrant bush, the dogwood, all been bare and sad looking all during the winter are now telling us that things will soon be back to normal, we are out of any long dark cold winter.
Seedlings, sown in the module trays, are doing well with:
- beetroot
- celery (first time, we shall see how that goes)
- lettuce
- tomatoes
- spinach (nearly ready to plant out)
I had to plant out the remainder of the onions from seed as I needed the trays to sow peas later this week. These join the spring onions already in the bed, both now covered with netting to stop the squirrels (and on going battle, mostly won by the squirrels).
