Quick visits to the plot

The one day I had time to be at the plot the weather decided to modal mid winter with wind, rain, and cold. Then suddenly it was back to summer again with the prospect of a hot weekend and so I had a quick visit to do watering. I wanted to make sure the very young swede seedlings I planted did not frazzle in the heat, so far they had not.

We didn’t need any more potatoes and so I left them for now, but I did cut off a couple of courgettes. All of the mixed squash plants seem to be doing well and I can now start to work out which ones at pumpkins as they start to spread across the plot. The cucumber plants have started to take off, although time is against them if we want to see a lot of actual cucumbers. It’s all up to what weather we get over the next weeks. It’s August soon and the start of the end of summer.
