Monthly Harvest August 26

August 2026

With all the hot dry weather, grapes have done really well and the ones hanging over our plot from the abandoned plot next door have been quite an unexpected surprise. Apples have also done really well. Both of these I’m surprised by as neither have had much water, if any, for the whole month. Blackberries are something else that has done really well, picking from overhang on abandoned plots that have turned mostly to bramble.

Something that hasn’t done well is potatoes, they all died off way too early and I’m left with lots of little potatoes. Tomatoes have suffered too, just not enough water even though I’ve been watering them most days they just failed to grow much.
