Garlic and Broad Beans

Now that the garden gets no direct sunlight for the next four or five months not much growing is possible. I’ve tried in previous years with overwintered onions but it is just too dark and too wet for anything to thrive. Maybe though, garlic and broad beans may be different. I had left over cloves and seed and so I thought I would give it a go. The broad beans were planted the other week and are starting to show while the garlic I put in today.

I pulled up the old cucumber plants and tidied up the celery. I also need to pull up the old tomato plants and runner beans but I’ll leave that for later on the week when the children can lend a hand.
