Planting out sweetcorn and new netting

There would be no point planting out the young sweetcorn plants if I did not first do something to keep the squirrels off. The plastic black netting I was already using had done a good job and so I ordered some more. I don’t like having to cover everything as it makes it hard to weed and hard to see what is going on under the cover. The black netting isn’t too bad as it’s doesn’t stop you seeing anything and it’s easy to pin down into the soil meaning you can uncover bits as needed. I planted out the sweetcorn with some left for the allotment later on.

We have been pulling and eating radish and trying to keep up with them. The peas had no squirrel problems and are climbing up the netting fast. They strawberries on the plot will not be much this year but the ones in the planters in the garden are doing really well.
