Garlic and More Leaves

Another week and more leaves to rake up and put on the compost. Some people store such leaves in plastic bags to rot down over the year and use as mulch, I just add them to the compost. They soon filled the bin up but I know within a week or two the level will be halved.

Following planting out garlic in the garden the other day, I planted out the main crop on the plot, two small rows.

I tidied up the mostly dead strawberry bed, weeding and replanting in some of the runners from other strawberry plants that over the years have found their way out of the main bed. I thought I was going to have to buy some new plants but the runners did the job.

I took home:

  • kale
  • carrots (the last lot)
  • beetroot (to make beetroot pickle)
