October 2024
Big outgoings as it was time to pay for another year of the plot, now £70 for a tiny half plot. This has slowly crept up over the years, it started off as £55. We also bought some garlic, which not only has since been planted but it is now showing.
We are eating a lot of pumpkin and starting to get a bit fed up with it, the harvest was the best we have had giving us a number of small ones but two massive big ones. We gave one to a friend to carve while the other one remains in our cupboard.
Most of the month was picking the end of things, we saw the last lot of:
- carrots
- beans
- runner beans
- courgette
We started and ended pulling up turnips, I didn’t plant many because I only like them when they are small and it is quite a skill to catch them at the right time before suddenly they are massive.
