Frosty in the morning, clear sky and sun during the morning, I decided to fill another six bags of rotted down horse manure from the free source a little drive away. This was enough to treat the rhubarb and put a layer down for a couple more beds. In theory, if I did another six bags, that would do me for the year and cover most beds with the remainder being covered by our own compost made on the plot.
While doing this I notice a big pile of woodchip had been delivered to the site and so I treated my paths with three wheelbarrow loads which gave everything an immediate boost, tidy up, and making the plot ready to go for the coming month of sowing to start.
At home, I have the indoor leeks, onions, and spring onions all looking good. I also have the over wintered spring onions and onions undercover outside which I will start to plant out in the garden beds within the next couple of weeks or so.
