Last of the garden carrots

We have had the best year for carrots in the garden, something we normally struggle with. We have been picking carrots for months and the number left in the ground never seem to get smaller! It was time to pull up the remaining lot before the weather turned and the remaining carrots got too sluggy, something which had started to happen. I was surprised by how many viable carrots I was able to pull up, nearly 1kg which for “left overs” was pretty good.

We continue to pick tomatoes which are still turning out to be the best flavoured tomatoes ever. We have given loads away to friends, but also about to make our own tomato sauce.

Spotted in the garden, we now have four butternut squashes.
