I have high hopes for our tomatoes and sweetcorn currently growing in the garden. I’ve been removing leaves and keeping the bunches of tomatoes to just two or three per plant. This has resulted in quite good airflow through and over the next three or four weeks I’m hoping the tomatoes will start to turn red.

Tomatoes are something I grow each year whereas sweetcorn is new to us. Wouldn’t it be nice to think we could be eating our own sweetcorn, I keep checking the cobs but will wait until the tussles have died off or turned colour. They are great show off plants, growing tall and putting on a show.
