I am pretty pleased with the tomatoes, with new ones turning red each day and ready for picking. It must be the best tomatoes we have had and I’m glad as it’s also the first time I have really looked after the plants properly. Likewise, needing a lot less attention, the beans are giving us plenty and we cannot eat them fast enough.

One of the left over cucumber plants from the plot which we put in the garden has not done that much but it has grown one good looking long cucumber which I’ve been waiting for a good moment to pick. I am now seeing at least one, possibly two, butternut squashes which seem to have taken ages to come about and I had given up on seeing anything.
