Normally I’m doing this around mid May but for some reason I decided to put the poles up now and once I did that it seemed silly not to sow the seed at the same time. We have three different variety of french beans and one lot of runner beans. This is that bed now full up with:

• potatoes, banked them up a couple of times
• peas, squirrels not dug them up yet
• french beans
• broad beans, supported these with string so they are not waving about in the wind

In the other bed I have:

• lettuce
• radish
• blank, soon to be beetroot seedlings
• carrots
• onions
