Seedlings starting to show

With not much rain over the last weeks I went up to the plot to water the rows of seeds. It was good to see loads of parsnip seedlings in-between the radish markers, they were not there last week. It’s still a bit too soon to see carrots and beetroot. Not so for the first lot of potatoes, small plants in rows are starting to show. Give it another week and they will be big enough to bank up.

Also showing was a lot of bindweed that wasn’t there last week but was enough to half fill a bucket once I had weeded the whole plot.

I dug three holes and filled with homemade compost, these will be where I plant the courgettes once they have grown big enough to plant out. These were sown only yesterday at home and are outside undercover, so nothing to plant out just yet but nice to be ahead and reserve a spot on the plot for them.
