It felt good during summer to be picking things we had grown and making full meals out of them, that feeling has continued into winter where items to pick and pulled are different but we are still able to make meals from what we have. We dug our potatoes the other day but we still needed other veg for Christmas and so walked up in the morning to collect all we would need.
A walk around the plot mentally making plans for next year and how the beds might all look. The short days, the knowing that they are slowly getting longer again although will still take some months to be of use, it makes you want to plan ahead. I shall maybe then spend some time looking back at how the year went and what we can do for the new year.
In the meantime, we walked home with:
- swedes
- sprouts
- leek
- carrots
- turnips
