It is important to note for another year…. the garden is just too dark and wet for any over wintering of plants to take place that well. Out of the bed of onion sets I put in last year, I think we have lost about a quarter and those that have made it are cold and wet. There is nothing nice about the garden in the winter, a sea of mud. I have filled the gaps with more onion sets, actually the left overs from when I planted the others out late last year. Once the sun finally hits the garden for any length of time (mid April) then they will all do well I’m sure (they did last year).
