There is a short story behind the Mile A Minute planted on the back fence and taking over what ever it can find. It used to be by the patio doors next to the decking until it nearly took over most of the decking and was about to attack the house. So one winter I dug it up, not too kindly, and plonked it in a hole in the ground next to the back fence. It went on to die for the rest of the winter and then came back ready for the attack in the spring.
It is still a bit of a pain, but for the time being the masses of tiny white flowers it gives off during autumn make up for it.
