The potatoes on the plot certainly were in need of water when I visited in the evening, hopefully the numerous watering cans I emptied on them will mean next time they will be standing back up again. Before doing this, I dug up a couple of plants and got a good set of potatoes from each.
The second row of carrots on the plot didn’t really germinate, so I think on the next visit I’ll sow some autumn ones and give them a good watering.
At home the two beds are completely covered in plants. We are picking peas and beetroot. Give it a week or two and all the peas will have been picked and removing the plants will give the butternut squash and the tomatoes a better chance.
